So, what is New Life all about? New Life is a community of believers that desire a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our mission is simple, we believe that people should be Loving God, Loving People and Serving others. Now don't just take our word for it, have a look at what Jesus said:

Here Jesus was being challenged by the Pharisees, who were the church leaders of his time, One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: "Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?" Thinking that they have finally cornered Jesus in a battle of wits, Jesus' reply is astonishing: Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them." Matthew 22:37-40 The Message

These scriptures are the basis of what we believe the local church should be about, we are so passionate about this belief it makes up 2/3rds of our mission and vision statement here at New Life, take a look:

Loving God...
Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence. This is the most important, the first on any list.

Loving People...
But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them."

Now for the last third of our mission and vision, Serving Others! Yeah we know that's a tough one. You mean that Jesus wants me to take time out of my day to serve? You bet! In the bible in Luke 22 the disciples are wondering who out of themselves will be considered the greatest amongst them. This is where Luke 22:26 comes into play:

Serving Others...
“… the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules, like the one who serves.” Luke 22:26

When you put yourself before others you set yourself up for a very unfulfilled life, but when you take the time to encourage and uplift someone that you don't even know you position yourself for one of the greatest gifts you will every recieve. Life Change!

So, now when someone asks you: "Hey, what's New Life about?" You can give them a simple answer: Loving God... Loving People... and Serving Others.
